Claudine T. Marceau Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Innovation in Health Care Systems

Claudine Marceau Utilizes Industry Expertise to Drive Health Care Systems Evolution

BASEL, SWITZERLAND, November 28, 2011 /Medical PR News/ -- Claudine Marceau, MBA, M.Sc., Director of Health Care Systems for Novartis International AG, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care systems.

Ms. Marceau has been appointed as director of health care systems at Novartis International AG, a multinational pharmaceutical company, in the past year. She is an expert in a wide array of areas, including market access, health economics and pharmaceutical marketing. In view of engaging with health authorities to improve the productivity of health care systems as a benefit to patients, families, caregivers, and others who contribute to public health, she evaluates outcomes and costs in selected therapeutic areas and across countries or regions. In addition, she develops evidence to improve value across the entire continuum of care and creates a framework with innovative methodology that supports solutions-oriented interactions to facilitate access, sustainability and quality of care.

In the past years, Ms. Marceau has assisted her company and its clients in many other ways, including demonstrating product value proposition, navigating market access complexity and mindset change leadership, achieving business objectives through health economics and outcomes analysis, as well as operationalizing market access strategy.

Ms. Marceau has 15 years of experience in evolving roles in key business functions across therapeutic areas of large pharmaceutical companies. She has worked locally, regionally and globally to drive strategic initiatives that help anticipate challenges and rethink operating models for life science businesses, health care systems and ultimately, patients. Ms. Marceau has done extensive public speaking as a leadership training program director and presented her research at a scientific conference. She has also published industry-related articles and presentations.
Attributing her success to her postgraduate background in science and business, her consistent health care and patient focus, and her personal skills, such as persistence and ability to network, Ms. Marceau feels that another key to her success has been good mentoring from senior individuals. She became involved in her profession after first working in pharmaceutical sales analytics, health economics and market access. She sees health care systems productivity as the next level that must be reframed for life science companies to evolve as partners in health value generation.

Ms. Marceau holds an MBA in international management, earned at McGill University, and has received a Master of Science in pharmacoeconomics and public health from the University of Montreal. Previously, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in strategic human resource management from the University of Quebec. She is a member of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association. In the future, Ms. Marceau hopes to evolve in her current field and deepen her expertise in health care systems. She intends to eventually become an educational/consulting advisor.
